heh i wanted to do that one pic, but i'm working on the 2nd pictures that you posted Jeff_C, I'll take pictures of it when i'm done. Right now I'm only done about 70% of the sketching part in pencil, then i need to go over it about 2 times with oil pastels...i think it'll look sharp in the end.

i still need the pic, but my other picture is going good so far. almost done with the pencil sketching part. I finished all the outlining, just need to draw in the detailed parts and then begin the pastel..

here's sorta an update, nothing special i just started painting it. it looks crappy now because i didn't blend the colors in too well and white doesn't blend in well when i go over the paper in white. so all in all i'm about 2% done

i believe that is pastel

and smeagle you are one of the best artists i have seen

it's oil pastel. i'm sure you used it before, it's almost like a crayon, but the texture of it can be blended.

this is my first oil pastel painting, so bare with me. if it all goes well i'm going to do one of Bea Youngs next.

ive only done one drawing with pastels and i was pretty happy with it except it was really messy and it took a lot of time for me to get blends right and for me to get it down evenly on the paper. just work with it on another piece of paper and you will learn the techniques that will save you a lot of time. good job by the way!
