i think that depends on the definition of "rookie" - and whether it's five or seven.

True rookie, i would have to say Epic. By local tourney standards (i.e. some non-rookies on the team), there are about six or eight teams that I think can win any given local tourney.

ok here is the scoop on the Rodents. yes the name is novice and yes we have novice players. but we also have 28 people on our team because we play x ball. so we need a lot of players. so flake and some are there. some have money, so dont caugh(sean)caugh. but i am 100 % postive that we have 10 players that are, by local standard rookie, if not more. now if u dont want to count us then i would say KK or fatol ig. KK was in first overall in psp for 5 man so, yea i think... no wait i no they are the best roook 5 man. thats kinda what that means. now u can say that, o we beat KK one time in pratice or at a tourney, but when that have there real roster that are and awswome team and i really dont think most novice teams can beat them. Im not sayin that there ant any other good rookie teams in nor cal cause that would be a lie. nor cal has by FAR the best teams in paintball. I aint blamin you dude. there are plenty of teams that are not on the list. But then again that list would be hella long. We have been in a few tourneys & the NCCS series. And we usually play everywhere. Mostly at Crossfire tho. I dont expect you to know of all of Rookie teams anyways.

Like Tom said earlier, depends on your defintion of a "rookie" team. Typically, for local tourneys, rookie means 1 1/2 yrs or less of tourney experience. And generally, this corresponds to the XPSL (Pan-Am) as well. A team playing in local tourneys as a rookie will generally be considered a rookie playing in the XPSL for the same year. However, national tourneys (PSP or NPPL events) are held to a different standard. They don't care what local events you've played in. All that matters is how many events you've played on the national level. Generally speaking, you're allowed to play up to 5 events and remain a "rookie." Some of you may think this is stupid, but that's the way it is, and when you happen to step up and play at one of these events, you'll understand why. Another general statement...most teams that play as a "rookie" in the PSP or NPPL will play as a Novice in local tournaments and in the XPSL. Just the way it goes.

With that being said, teams play different events as well, so its hard to compare. In my opinion, best NPPL 7-man "rookie" team has to be Expo Army. Those guys consistently make it to the Sunday club and are still competing for the series title. Goodluck to them in Vegas. SF Paintball Center's team also is worth mentioning, doing well in the events they attend.

For PSP 5man, hands down, Kamikazi Kids takes it. Probably the best 5man rookie team in the US of A. Divisional X-ball (D3), has to be the Rodents (since they're the only ones from norcal that play it). These guys always find themselves in the top 4. I don't think we have a rookie 10man team from norcal, so guess nobody wins that one.

As for local & XPSL teams, sorry, don't follow them, as there's a new "rookie" team starting up every week. So I'll let everyone here fight for that one by posting up their own team. I do know the Mavericks, Epic, and Ballistic are good teams though.

Although they dont play in the rookie division I am going to have to vote for The CA$H Money Kids, these guys are ballers, this is their first year and they chose to play novice right out of the gate and have been taking it to a lot of the more seasoned teams this year. By official rules they are a rookie team, this is their first true season but the fact that they have the skills and the determination to hang with the stronger novs teams in their first season says a lot about these guys. Watch out for these guys, cause I already am!
