I'm not sure if Santa Cruz is consiterd the Bay Area or not so thought I'd try here. I'm at the college UC Santa Cruz and was wondering if anybody else around here either knew how to get to a field via bus or would be willing to give rides once a month or so, if I chipped in on gas of course. Thanks a million.

Well as of right now Santa Clara Paintball has my interest, but after spending like 5 hours trying to find out how to get there by bus I have given up. Look's like I'll either have to rent a car the days I want to go or else start a paintball-free diet.

Or get out of that fruitcake town and go to SJ State....

you can take the hwy 17 bus into los gatos and im sure theres a bus that goes to the fair grounds somewhere near by.
i just moved back to santa cruz and there is hardly anything here, so i feel your pain. if i want to play, i drive 3 1/2 hours up to wap...lol.
the fields close by are bear creek, scp, sunol, tag (watsonville or hollister or gilroy...im not certain where they are anymore) and uspn (but i think theyre done).
your best bet is to ask around at the campus, im sure theres people that play there...with cars...

Thanks a million, I'll try out that bus route. At least until I can meet some people around here. WAP is great fun but I can't just stand the drive even when I have a car. use to live closer (Redding, 2 hours north of sac). Thanks again

Santa Cruz will suck you dry and you will one day regret moving there. Trust me on this I grew up there, was a cop there and still have family there. Get out! We have a motto for good ol SC "Come on vacation, leave on probation". Dont leave anything in your car, dont trust any of the fools downtown, and by all means GET OUT!!!!!

lol, maybe, but maybe y ou jut have to be a certain type a person to like it here. I know most of the students are a special breed. But I love it here, it's amazing.

No worries, you will see in time what I am talking about. Its JUST like that crazy girl you just met....sure she is bi-polar and mannic depressive, but she is exciting and new and great in the sack! Its great for a while, pretty, fresh, full of new and fun things. You get used to the dysfunction. Then you meet a normal person (ie you go back to where you came from or visit another city)Then the reality sinks in. Things start to go a little off. Next thing you know you cant get far enough away and getting away has a sense of freedom to it. Now I amy come across as a hater, and that is true, I am. But I have seen this happen a thousand times, and I am trying to let you know what to be wary of. The SUCK effect that Santa Cruz has can trap you like it has/does to so many. Good luck and try to get to SCP when you can. Look me up, my name is Earl and I wont be hard to find. I promise I wont hate any more about this!

Maybe, but I hope that doesnt happen. Sides, my "crazy girl you just met" plans on going to LA for grad school, so we wont be here long anyways. Sides, cops and Santa Cruz don't mix that well. I mean, personally I love cops and respect what they do, but the majority of the people fear and mistrust them here. Sorry if I come accross as overly agressive about this, but I have never been happier in my life then I have been here. I feel like anybody saying something bad about Santa Cruz is directly saying something bad about me. I'm just saying this so you know how I feel, and thank you for not talking about it anymor. I hope to see you in SCP once I come back from winter break. If I havent managed to lose all of my skill maybe we'll shoot some fools together, lol.

Dude, I am SO happy to hear you are going to LA. And as far as the cops over there go, I could tell you a million stories about them, some good, some bad, but by and large those are really overworked, underpaid and abused police officers who use almost no force compared to the cops here in the valley. Please look me up or go to my website if you need anything.
