After the overwhelming success of RPL Oceanside, both teams and vendors have been begging us to have The RPL Finale back at the Camp Pendleton Tournament Park versus Las Vegas in November.

The RPL is here for you, so to be fair to ALL teams, owners, vendors and even spectators, we have decided to let the people vote!

Please show your support by voting which venue you would like to go to for The RPL Finale: Oceanside vs. Vegas. Hurry and place your votes before the polls close this Sunday, August 2nd!

So as you all know I can see things on this forum that others can not! I have seen and I will tell you that someone has in the past 24 hours set-up over 30 accounts and voted on this RPL poll.

Now I can work out the true number by looking at all the IPaddresses after Sunday when the RPL close the poll.

This forum is one user per email address! So this person wanted to go very badly to one of the places!! The person set it up with the same name then one number different on each email address. LOL

Polls are set to get a gauge on what people are thinking, we all know the odd few people will have 2 or 3 email addresses and they out weigh each other. But setting up 30+ is crazy.

Having worked events in Vegas in the past I can say I would rather it be in Oceanside. When you spend your whole day (whole weekend) at an event it does not really matter if it is in Vegas or not. No one will be able to enjoy that fact that it is Vegas because everyone will be tried from playing. The thing that matters the most is cost; which city is going to be better cost wise for everyone, not just one or two teams. Vegas hotels are more expensive, especially turning that time of year and most of the teams are in CA to begin with I do believe. Everyone is getting caught up with the idea of "Vegas", but it isn't the same. I also have a really good idea of where it would be held and neither place would be that great (unless a certain new park opened up). With all that said, even though I voted for Oceanside, if Shawn and the RPL decide to keep it in Vegas then that's where we will go.

Lets try really thinking for a second about what you wrote. A good portion of teams that play in the RPL are not old enough for any of that. Plus, if you are going to Vegas because its "Vegas", go another time and not when there is a paintball tournament to be played. All those reason are not good reasons to have a paintball tournament in Vegas.

Where did you stay in Oceanside for $90? I know for a fact there were cheaper priced rooms. Why did you book your room so far in advance for? Things change, that's just the way it is. Look at NPPL Houston last year. Ike hit and made it where there could not be an event. Locations change all the time in paintball and its usually for the best.

it doesn't really matter unless the event is in mesquite or something, none of it's an hour away. Oh wait I guess I should preface this by saying I lived there for 2 years, so it's not that big of a deal. Distance wise.

My thing is, I'm seeing all the cp teams are wanting it at oside. Of course you want it there then you don't have to pay for a hotel.
I feel the same way about Bakersfield, but I'm not gripen for it to come back here.

Just put the event where it was advertised And let's get on with it already.

No ones "gripen", everyone is just giving their opinion here. Its not just the Camp Pendleton teams that want it in Oceanside, the simple fact is that most people would rather play on turf and not dirt and would rather not slide over the spikes in the ground. That time of the year it is nicer in Oceanside (and I'm not talking about the beach either). Again, everyone is caught up in the Vegas hype, but when you are there for a tournament, that never comes into play (unless you go out and get trashed after each day and mess up your game and set a bad example for younger players). Presonally I want Oceanside. I have a pretty good idea of where the event could take place in Vegas (having worked paintball events in Vegas) and none of them are great choice and everyone will end up complaining about it because that's just what always happens. With all that said, my guys and I will play anywhere, but Oceanside is the best choice here all around.

I went to ocside tuney it was a great field but every single team that I talked to was very looking towards coming to vegas . So this poll sounds like people that just can't aford to come here but there is also teams that can make it there las vegas is in the middle of cal n Arizona so the teams could meet in the middle !!!

In absolutely no way does this poll even reflect the amount of teams/players that play RPL. You say you linked it to a Vegas forum. I would think this is a "West Coast" dominated forum/site so of course you will have more Cali vs. other. In no way was this poll posted or brought up in any state side forum websites that I know of. It was not in the arizona's site forum, new mexico's site forum, or even texas's site forum. You would think for something as important as changing a venue the word should have been spread on a more broader scale as well as more time to be given to do the voting. As far as all the votes of course you will get more Oceanside votes as this poll was not properly broadcasted nor enough time allotted. I got the e-mail July 28th for the vote and it ended August 2nd. 6 days of voting to reach players in 7+ states that play in the league. Yes Oceanside is a great venue but I thought the idea of the Vegas venue was to create a neutral location as well as a making it fun and cheap for everyone.

In all honestly the whole Oceanside vs. Vegas was a losing battle to even begin with.

BallersCafe is a West Coast forum and I know the RPL emailed the players who have played the RPL so I think they did all they could.

Hey balla since the start of this poll u were worried about the votes as far as anybody knows somebody could have done it from cal so they could keep it in Cali voting on vegas just so they could catch it and take the votes away.

Say your theory is right... all those votes came from 1 person. If that person had voted for oceanside, oceanside would still have twice as many votes and we'd be in the same place. If you really want to play in Vegas, look into USPL 5 man....

As others have said, Vegas is fun but... as a vendor it is much more practical to go to Oceanside. Everything is more economical there! And during these tough times that is important for everyone, players and vendors! So my vote, Oceanside.

I'm sorry did I say somewhere in my post that Vendors were more important than players? Let me go back and check... nope didn't say that! But I do own a paintball field, and I do have several teams that play the RPL and I do KNOW for a fact that it would cost less for them to travel to Oceanside than to Vegas. I am not presuming that it would be cheaper for every single RPL player and vendor to have the event in Oceanside, but for a lot, it would be. Especially for those of us in Northern CA. That is all I was saying. That and I don't know of any league that can survive without Sponsors, Vendors or Players. We all play a roll to make events happen!

Oh and by the way, in my next life I'm going to come back as a FedEx driver so I can make sure to get all my deliveries when I'm supposed to!!

With a little research Im sure you can find comparable prices for hotels. No one said that the "vendors are more important than the players", but their opinion is valued because they support this league and attend the events.

Here, I'll rephrase....it SEEMS that for the most part I'm hearing from Vendors its cost. The trip from Modesto to Vegas is 1 hour longer than it is to oceanside. And if your'e in the car for over 5 hours, what's another hour......

Thats marginal savings at best. Oh well.

Really are you serious?? Cheapest hotel that is a reasonable distance. is going to cost me $200 to stay the weekend.

Vegas was going to cost $120.......There are more hotels that will give you better deals in Vegas because the Casino is what they are interested in.

I tell you what, YOU find the hotels that are cheaper and post them here.

This doesn't always happen. I spoke to one of the local fields here in Vegas and they have said they'd like to host a local tourney for those of us who were planning on the rpl, but can't make it to CP... So, I am looking for EVERYONES help. If you posted on this forum I am asking you to spread the word so some of your fellow ballers can still have a tournament. If you would, PM me so I can get a good idea for a turnout. THX :D

I never once cried about having a tournament in Vegas. I like Vegas and will play the USPL event. USPL probably wont have a poll because their player base is international not regional. RPL held this poll because because they received a large positive response from the PLAYERS, SPECTATORS, and SPONSORS about oceanside... why not have the last event at the BEST facility?

The Oceanside event is nice but its kinda in a canyon and 30 minutes into the base. The Turf is awesome but it was such a small venue I think if we took it to vegas....there should be more venders....cuz i cmon, everyone and their fanboy is wearing I4s now-a-days and you're telling me no vender brought any lenses? I remember at xpsl we would walk around and haggle diffirent vendors for the best deal, which usually was 3 or 4 dollars cheaper but thats a gatorade or 2!

Take the back entrance, then its less than 5 minutes. But I'm with you on the Vendors.
