say you have three leagues, and the top division(d4 or d5) in each league only has three to five teams that play in each event of the series, well if you formed ONE league and held events at each field(5 events SCP, Davis, CEP, Midway, USPN) then you'd grab all the teams that would be playing in the separate leagues and have 15 teams in the top division each event. sound better? well it sounds logical....
k here's the problem in norcal. we have TOO many local leagues for teams to play in which cuts down on the team entry and thats why you have little one day tournaments. if we want to farm some quality teams, we'd have one league that each event is at a different field and then every team would only play that one league. i mean between the pfoa, cepl, and ncps, the team count is small because each team chooses to play one league, (well most of em). and i know the PFOA was formed with this idea to unite the fields and form one solid league to builid teams up for regional/national tournaments but instead most field pulled away and wanted all the business for themselves but really your hurting yourself . So obviously no field owner like midway or cepp is going to agree to this idea and thats why i brought this to the octagon so any could flame or argue about it. but essentially i think my idea is the right direction for norcal paintball. local tournaments aren't money makers so why not unite and make a really organization and distinguished series for the norcal teams to live in. just my thought after looking over all the leagues and team entries and money and all sorts of issues. i'm glad im farther up in paintball where i dont have to play a league and only play three teams and get piddly prizes.
fields would be better off holding structured practices and FPO at a reasonable cost then hosting tournaments.
