would a cp reg work with a maxflow system?

i was wondering if i took off the stock reg on my 03 ultimate shocker and put on a sft vertical adaptor kit and a cp reg would that work?

i was talking to one of my friends and they said that i would have to make the max-flow hp instead of lp for it to work? is that true?

ok wut i have is an 03 ultimatte shocker with the old style max-flow. w/ a 68/45 and i wanted to take of the stock reg and put on an sft adaptor and a cp reg and hook that up to the maxflow.
