Instead of people getting burned by paying $5-10 for this 9v mod to be done, this could be done for less than $1 and about 10 minutes of your time. This mod is easy and definately makes your halo lighter.

What you need:

(1) Halo Hopper
(3) 9v connectors which can be bought at radio shack
Electrical Tape

All you need to do is attach 2 9v connectors to the other 9v connector. Make sure that it's reversed polaritity. So 2 red wires meets up with teh 1 black wire, vice versa. Use electrical tape so it's kept in place and won't undo itself while playing. That's all.

Here's a picture of it:

a friend did it to his egg and took of like 95% of the tension off the battery door. never broke one since.

this mod and simply putting 9v conector on an egg is difffernt.

Also isnt this mod pretty safe to do cuz if u do mess up u can always take the connectors u made off of the original 1 and still use the AAs? Also u can solder the wires together not just tape them correct?

If u can tell by the pic he posted i attached a painting i did(i was bored) ::) The 2 connectors if u couldnt tell fit together

Halos normally take 6 AA batteries which weigh quite a bit and a plastic thing that holds them all together. With this mod u can use 2 9volts. Which lightens it up.

Ya know when i first looked at the picture i didn't notice the 2 9 volts that were taped together. Thanks for the info, gonna do the mod right now with some parts from my old Heald School of Ripoff ;D electronic parts

ya, i was talkin to psybuster and he said that its supposed to last 10-20 cases if u use lithim battaries. but with standard batt. it will still last 10 cases. which is alot compared to the 5 or 6 (random guess) that the 6AA's will last, not to mention the great weight reduction ;D

wow brian that drawing u made actually made since.

do u need anything besides the 9 volt connectors? like more wires or whatever the hell that black thing is all the wires go into... or did u use all of the crap off the old AA's harness?

all you need is three 9v connectors, two 9v batt., electrical tape/soldering iron. the big black thing is his batt. cover. i asked already :P

heh this mod is basically something to make it so that you don't spend $235234589080 on batteries like i did, also to lighten up the halo because i'm a weak bastard. It can be done several ways, but i did it this way because it's easy and dummy proof

---

Also for those who are looking to do that one pbn evoII mod DON'T DO IT. We did it to 3 y-boarded Eggs, all 3 y boards were fried in a day. Fast as hell, but a definately garbage mod. So don't do that if you want to keep your egg.

ya at radio shack they had regular 9v connectors for like $2 or heavy duty for $2.50. I did the mod today and its pretty simple and my halo is alot lighter now.

i dont get it u have to solder the wires? or just tape them?

I soldered them xavier. You should tape the soldered wires too cuz if they touch they can short circuit (my electrician uncle told me). But for soeme reason when I turn my Halo on it blinks red. Maybe low battaries? if so I'll go and buy new ones.

ya the batteries have to be new.its safer to just solder but if u cant solder im sure u could twist the wires together and tape them. Also i dont think itll short circuit if the wires touched and werent taped i think the batteries would just heat up but its not good either way.

solder and heat shrink = best. does this only work with newer halos? cuz i have an older board i think, and it goes but then slows way down and stops after like 3 seconds. brand new lithiums too

i have them on my old v35 halo (about a year old) and also my new halo

FatalIgnorance

this board is about a year and a half to 2 years old, its not v35.

PsybusterX

hmm i'm not quite to sure what the problem is. but it should work regardless what the board is, because if it was done properly the board would be powered by 9 volts.

psy you think i can switch a 9volt reloader that u have to press the batteries into it with ones that can click into it

FatalIgnorance
