dm5 battery problem

my dm5 drains the life out of my battery is this normal or what someone let me know i put a battery in on sunday i check the volts on the batt before putting it in it was at 9.4v
so i checked it out today and it was at 8.4v also how long should the batt life for the dm5

what kind?, the stock enegizer industrial i let in my gun for about 10 cases then i switcvhed it out before a tourny just to beon safe side, as long as its a decent batter duracel, enegizer raovac it should last pretty long.

u probly left the gun on and it drained the battery.
